Volume Graphics has announced the latest generation of its software solutions for nondestructive quality assurance with industrial computed tomography (CT): Version 3.3 of VGSTUDIO MAX, VGSTUDIO, VGMETROLOGY and VGinLINE.

Tungaloy enhances its ISO positive turning inserts in “-01” geometry to include a 0.4 mm (0.0157") nose radius prepared in a minus tolerance specifically for precision finishing in Swiss turning applications. Hoffmann Group USA announces the new centering vise called the GARANT Xtric. The vice is equipped with a new chuck jaw quick-change system, which enables easy, tool-free changeover. A click mechanism gives the vise an interchange accuracy in the micrometer range. Top jaws, which can be rotated by 180 degrees, allow for a large clamping range and high variability when fixing components. And clamping using multiple GARANT Xtrics is not a problem, the center can be adjusted precisely to achieve top precision.

Featuring multiple straight flutes designed for machining longer threads in small to large diameters, Carmex Precision Tools Slim MT inserts and toolholders deliver high productivity for a lower price. Constructed of an advanced carbide and coating combination for extended tool life, most of the inserts are double sided.

Tungaloy is introducing NDL geometry for TOHT inserts for the DeepTri-Drill line of indexable gundrills.

Electromate introduces Dual Absolute encoder versions of the FHA-C mini actuator, which feature BiSS-C bi-directional communication for both encoders. The dual encoders are incorporated in essentially the same package size as the long-standing FHA-C mini single incremental encoder version. Without increasing the size, the dual absolute encoder offers single turn absolute position at the output, without the need for battery back-up.
