Collet pad top jaw systems from Dillon Manufacturing allow more varied geometries to be securely gripped, while also allowing more aggressive machining which shortens cycle times. MicroCentric Corp. has introduced a new quick-change compensating collet chuck for applications where shafts are machined between centers. The chuck features a pullback design with a floating collet seat and incorporates a mounting in the ID of the chuck body for centers or other types of locators.
