The API Robot Measurement Solution (RMS) provides the complete toolkit necessary to verify robot accuracy to the ISO 9283 standard, allowing on-site, in-situ, robot performance verification and enhanced robot calibration to be performed.

Mitutoyo America Corp. announces the release of the DP-1VA Digimatic data logger and printer to its data management systems product line. The DP-1VA will replace the DP-1VR.

Toshiba America Information Systems’ (TAIS) Imaging Systems Division introduces a small, digital video borescope with illumination, the SV-1000. The small, water-resistant chip-on-tip inspection camera measures only 1.6 mm diam. and features an integrated LED light for illumination within the 1.9-meter flexible shaft.

The L.S. Starrett Co. has announced the introduction of its Digi-Check Height Masters with electronic digital readout. The new Digi-Check No. 258 Series Height Masters combine the accuracy of Starrett-Webber Gage Blocks with a precision micrometer head and digital readout display.

Renishaw has launched a new encoder family for linear axes, which offers exceptionally wide installation tolerances and axis speeds of up to 24 meters per second. The QUANTiC encoder series produces a digital signal output directly from the readhead and eliminates the requirement for additional bulky external interfaces.

HEIDENHAIN announces a new series of angle encoders called the ERP 1000 with the design criteria of exceptionally high resolution, high speed and high contamination resistance. These new unique encoders are particularly useful for highly accurate measurement and positioning applications within semiconductor and metrology equipment.

The L.S. Starrett Co. has introduced its DFC and DFG series of digital handheld force gages. Depending on the series, advanced automatic testing can be attained with the DFC force gage controlling a Starrett FMM digital force tester, or basic testing can be performed using the DFG gage.

Mitutoyo America Corp. announces the release of U-Wave fit to its data management systems product line. The U-Wave fit is a new, compact attachment for Mitutoyo calipers and micrometers that transmits measurements wirelessly to a PC using the digimatic protocol.

Marposs announces the availability of Confocal, a noncontact measuring system that enables very fast, high resolution distance and thickness gauging of almost any surface including solid, transparent and polished mirror surfaces such as glass, plastic or silicon wafers. Featuring a 4mm optical sensor within the measuring probe, the accuracy is extremely precise, enabling the identification of very small aberrations in shape, air gap or paint finish.

Marposs Corp. has introduced its new M62 Flex manual bench gage system. Created for the production environment, this gage provides the flexibility to measure gears with different diameters without mechanical retooling. Utilizing a universal reference “Vee” on a 30-degree angle eliminates the need of using an ID centering post (or nosepiece) to locate each part for measuring, and it reduces setup time.

Marposs has expanded its TS line of contact tool setters with the addition of the VOTS 90° optical probe for use on vertical machining centers. Due to its horizontal design, the VOTS 90° can be installed on the machine table outside the working area. This saves machining space without compromising on tool inspection.

Marposs has announced the availability of its new WRSP60 high-accuracy scanning probes for checking part profiles directly on machining centers and milling machines in real time. Parts can be checked for defects without being transferred to a measurement lab, eliminating the need to reload and reposition the part for any necessary reworking, improving the process and optimizing cycle time.

Novacam Technologies has introduced a noncontact probe with a 0.02” (0.5 mm) diameter. Designed to be used with either Novacam TubeInspect or BoreInspect 3D metrology systems, this ultrathin fiber-based probe reaches inside to measure tubes, bores and other hard-to-reach spaces with IDs as small as 0.04” (1 mm).
