MicroCentric Corp. has introduced a new quick-change compensating collet chuck for applications where shafts are machined between centers. The chuck features a pullback design with a floating collet seat and incorporates a mounting in the ID of the chuck body for centers or other types of locators.

Emuge Corp. has expanded its line of FPC milling/drilling chucks products to include Slim Line models that are designed to enhance 5-axis machining productivity and versatility. The SCHUNK ROTA NCR-A sealed 6-jaw pendulum compensation chuck has special seals at the jaw interface and the piston to keep the grease from being washed out and the clamping force from being gradually lost. Even in the case of low clamping forces, precise functioning of the chuck is ensured, and at the same time the seals ensure than an ingress of chips and dirt into the chuck body is avoided. As a result, process safety increases, and the maintenance intervals extend. This means that the lathe chuck doesn’t have to be lubricated or cleaned as often.

Hoffmann Group USA announces the new centering vise called the GARANT Xtric. The vice is equipped with a new chuck jaw quick-change system, which enables easy, tool-free changeover. A click mechanism gives the vise an interchange accuracy in the micrometer range. Top jaws, which can be rotated by 180 degrees, allow for a large clamping range and high variability when fixing components. And clamping using multiple GARANT Xtrics is not a problem, the center can be adjusted precisely to achieve top precision.

As a recent addition to its EPPINGER PRECI-FLEX modular tooling system, EXSYS Tool Inc. offers a two-collet chuck that doubles the machining capability of one turning machine tool turret station. Designed for Mazak QUICK TURN and QTU series turning centers with optional high-speed drive motors, Y-axis functionality and standard BMT turrets, the double-collet chuck can deliver speeds up to 10,000 rpm with a 1:1 ratio and 20 N-m of torque and features 1,000 psi, or 70 bar, internal coolant.

Kitagawa NorthTech Inc. introduces its new DKF Series of low-profile collet chucks. The DKF low-profile collet chuck features a compact nose, which is required when additional tool clearance is needed in tight workpiece and machining environments.
