Riten can repair/restore to “like new” condition their standard centers and face drivers (as well as industry competitor’s products) for a fraction of the cost of new tools. If practical repair is not possible, trade-in is available for live centers and face drivers at significant savings for new standard Riten one. With competitors’ products, trade-in savings are estimated on a case-by-case basis.

The GT 342 enables machining of bars from 0.12” to 1.73” (3-44 mm) and can guide bars from 32” (800 mm) to 12’.6” (3810 mm) in length.  The new toolless channel design allows for partial changeovers of under 2 minutes with full changeover times of less than 7 minutes.  Once unlocked, the lower channels simply slide out while the upper channel remains the same for the entire bar diameter range.

In addition, the PCD inserts provide the shortest machining times due to their ability to mill at high cutting speeds. The inserts can be used dry, with emulsion of MQL (minimum quantity lubrication).

So how does Y-axis turning work? As the name implies, the new method makes use of the Y-axis, and all three axes are used simultaneously when machining. The tool rotates around its own center, the insert is placed for machining in the Y-Z plane and the milling spindle axis interpolates during turning. This allows intricate shapes to be machined with a single tool.

The gage is supplied in a carrying case with a program on a USB drive that runs in LK's CAMIO measuring and reporting software. The program includes DMIS measurement and alignment routines for bridge and horizontal arm CMMs, allowing the CCG cycle to run seamlessly on LK machines. However, it is easy for operators of other 3D measuring platforms using different software to program a probing cycle around the gage to check for machine accuracy.
