Beckhoff Automation has introduced new EL34x3 series EtherCAT Terminals for advanced power measurement and mains monitoring. The new F-712.PM1 high-speed optical power meter from PI (Physik Instrumente) converts optical signals and currents of photodiodes into a high resolution, logarithmic analog voltage signal. Its high bandwidth of 20kHz enables faster optical alignment, when used in conjunction with PI’s high-speed FMPA photonics alignment systems for SiP (Silicon Photonics) applications. The extended wavelength range of 400nm to 1,550nm allows working in both the visible and infrared range without switching.

Kurt DoveLock master jaws are designed to be installed in replacement of standard cap screw jaws and create a quick-change capability. Once the DoveLock master jaws are installed into the vise they perform as a receiver for the replaceable jaws and are installed or removed by loosening three quick clamps in the top of each master jaw.

UNITED GRINDING has unveiled its new EWAG PROFILE LINE, an indexable carbide insert grinding solution. Developed in a partnership between Ewag AG and sister company Walter Maschinenbau GmbH, the PROFILE LINE serves as an efficient grinding center for the advanced processing of highly complex interchangeable insert geometries and interfaces.

Marposs Corp. has expanded its MIDA VTS visual tool setter family with the addition of the VTS WF45 and WF85 wide field versions suited for noncontact measuring and verifying “double-sided”, large-diameter tools. Relying upon LED technology, the wide field versions can perform both profile and surface integrity inspection of the entire tool front to back, identifying any minor faults in the work tool that could affect workpiece integrity. Typical applications include CNC machines, especially milling machines where tools are heavily subjected to wear and dimensions need to be continually checked.

WIDIA has created an app to quickly access machining speeds and feeds for WIDIA tooling without interrupting production. The newly released Machining Central app scans the WIDIA product bar code or searches the tool’s corresponding order number or an ANSI or ISO catalog number to automatically generate product information and availability along with feeds and speeds in seconds.
