Drills

CoroDrills 462 and 862

Individually, the CoroDrill 462 offers high performance hole making up to 3.00 mm. Ideal for drilling both blind and through holes, the drill is capable of machining a variety of ISO materials, including ISO P, M, K, N, S, O and H. With a drill depth of 6xD, the CoroDrill 462 offers manufacturers a versatile drilling solution.

Core Drills

Used for both enlarging or finishing holes from a castings core pin condition, a major advantage of the Star Cutter core drills is that they are proven to cut straight holes that correct shifts in a cored hole location, which can occur during the casting process. These drills are also adept at preparing holes for a second pass in tight tolerance reaming, optimizing the hole size and location results.

VHM Tools 2021 Catalog

In addition to the numerous new additions and special “First Choice” recommendations, the catalog features a range of practical information for cutters about Inovatools’ INOSHOP (online shop), INOQR (QR code reader), INOCUT (cutting data computer) and INOCAM (CAM/XML interface) as well as a range of web, Android and iOS apps, providing users with instant and comprehensive information and allowing them to access the required tool and its data directly and with just a few clicks.

Carbide Drill

Available in diameter sizes starting at 4mm, these Star Cutter drills are manufactured from a selection of more wear-resistant carbide grades than typically used in these applications, resulting in longer tool life. Additionally, special bolt-hole circles and coolant hole sizes assist in eliminating OD aluminum build up and aid in flushing chips away from the workpiece. The drills are available with various advanced coatings, and/or highly polished carbide to eliminate build up and reduce overall tool wear.

FBX Drill

The FBX drill is part of a tooling concept specifically developed to maximize metal removal rates and decrease cycle times when machining aerospace structural components. Quickly removing large amounts of material remains a challenge for these types of components. Traditionally, the first process step is to enter the material by using ramping techniques. This is a time-consuming process and low metal removal rates are the norm.

D3120 Indexable Insert Drill

Available in diameter sizes ranging from 0.562-1.375 in. and 16-42 mm with 2, 3, 4 x Dc, the new drill delivers maximum process reliability with simple and efficient chip removal, two coolant channels and polished flutes. Superior protection against friction is provided by the D3120 hardened and polished surfaces. This combination of surface hardness and improved coolant flow results in reduced wear on the drill surface.

WTX High-Feed Drill

The innovative pyramid geometry of the WTX ensures extremely aggressive and precise drilling performance. In fact, the WTX achieves positioning accuracy of 0.03 mm and excellent centering properties. Higher levels of drilling quality, hole tolerance, surface finish, and positioning accuracy increase component quality, to the extent that there is no need for potential reworking. Furthermore, low burr formation when entering and exiting the hole eliminates the need for time-consuming subsequent deburring.

HPR Solid Carbide Drill

The drill’s patented point thinning, special gashing, and a 143°-point angle provide excellent self- centering capabilities and reduce thrust, keeping the drill running straight even at the highest feed rates. In addition, four margin lands deliver maximum stability when drilling cross holes and inclined exits.

GARANT Master Steel DEEP

Internal tests show the new GARANT Master Steel DEEP achieved impressive results in comparison to its predecessor and products from competitors: up to 30 percent higher metal removal rate, up to 70 percent higher process reliability and three times longer tool life.
