Toolholders

The reCool ERAX uses the patented reCool design to deliver coolant with a maximum pressure of 1,450 psi in live tooling applications with speeds up to 12,000 rpm. Equally well suited for emulsion and oil coolants, the system is currently available for ER collet sizes 16, 20, 25 and 32 to handle tools between 3-20 mm in diameter. Both through-tool coolant and peripheral cooling are possible using REGO-FIX DS/ER sealing disks and KS/ER coolant flush disks, respectively.

The HDC jet-through type holders are ideal for high-precision 5-axis machining with maximum RPM of 35,000 and clamping range of ¼” to ½” and fit nearly any application in the automotive, aerospace, medical, and die and mold industries.

TungTurn-Jet toolholders deliver coolant strategically to the optimum position close to the cutting point of the insert. This significantly improves chip control when machining exotic materials that are prone to smearing by effectively breaking the chips into pieces and guiding them away from the cut, which was difficult using a traditional external coolant nozzle method. Additionally, TungTurn-Jet features a second coolant outlet from the insert clearance side which not only improves chip control but also helps minimize flank wear for increased insert life and productivity. 

DuoJust-Cut features innovative insert clamping ensuring tool rigidity and stability in various parting operations. In addition to existing JXPG insert with a ground in chipbreaker on the rake face, the new JXPS insert incorporates a 3D chipbreaker pressed in to its “dual-rake” cutting edge which is designed to promote optimal chip control and evacuation without compromising surface integrity. 

By placing high-pressure coolant directly in the cutting zone, JETI technology ensures superior chip and temperature control. For further process optimization, holders equipped with Jetstream Tooling Duo feature a second coolant outlet from the clearance side that can be turned on or off depending on part-processing requirements.

The GD8 geometry has been specifically developed for grooving along the shoulders and grooving of large diameters without interference of the insert with the finished workpiece. The VG8 geometry has been developed for finishing operations behind a collar.

Seco Tools has introduced a modular toolholder system for manufacturers seeking to improve their productivity with Swiss-style machining. The system enables fast, easy and repeatable insert indexing and tool changes outside of tight machine work spaces. The QC (quick-change) Toolholders also feature Seco Jetstream Tooling and Jetstream Tooling Duo technology for optimal chip control, high-quality surface finishes and extended tool life.
