Conventional machining of serrations on turned parts requires a separate process either while milling or broaching. Before either of these finishing processes can take place the parts generally must go through a cleaning process. With Schwanog’s broaching tool, manufacturer of serrated turned parts are able to use a completely new approach on a conventional lathe with C-axis, in a single operation, which eliminates the cleaning process.

SCHUNK Electronic Solutions is bringing two depaneling machines with large installation spaces onto the market: the SAR-1300-Mono-Smart and the SAR-1700. The machines mill and saw individual PCBs from a large PCB panel - the maximum panel size is 600 x 500 millimeters.

The new GARANT MasterSteel SlotMachine from the Hoffmann Group is a solid-carbide roughing endmill, which achieves high feed rates when slot milling from solid steel. The innovative knuckle form profile produces extremely compact swarf. Therefore, the Hoffmann Group was able to construct the milling cutter with five cutting edges. As a result, at a constant feed rate per tooth the new five-edge end mill achieves 25 percent higher process efficiency than a classic four-edge endmill.

The You Ji VTL-1200ATC+C is a 49” table/63” swing vertical turning lathe with full C-axis and live milling for heavy-duty turning and milling of large workpieces from Absolute Machine Tools Inc. This heavy-duty, highly productive VTL weighs in at 72,600 lbs. and features a rigid vertical column and a Meehanite castings base, which is heavily ribbed for reduced thermal distortion and vibration damping.
