The latest release of VISI mold and die software enhances the progressive die design processes, along with enhancements for the Reverse module. Upgrades to the new part unfolding technology provides the ability to work directly on the original solid model, supports blanking functionality, and manages parts with non-linear bends.

Walter has introduced the T2713, a universal indexable thread mill suitable for a variety of materials up to 55 HRC. This newest addition to the Walter thread milling system combines the advantages of thread milling with the efficiency of tapping. Due to the smooth cutting and lower cutting forces, machining times can be comparable to those of thread tapping and forming.

Heidenhain Corp.'s Acu-Rite brand introduces new software for its versatile 300 series digital readout (DRO) that now allows users to control a sinker EDM. This new development broadens this established DRO’s use to include all of the most common manual shop machines such as milling, turning, grinding and now EDM in a single DRO.
