Machining Center/Horizontal

BA W03-22 CNC Machining Center and BA Profile

With its high precision and efficiency, the two-spindle BA W03-22 CNC machining center is ideal for producing high-quality work products in medium and large series for the automotive industry. Compared to a single-spindle machine, cycle times can be reduced many times over, ensuring maximum productivity. The BA profile machine concept can easily mill profiles of various materials up to a length of 2,500 mm, for applications in the truck and automotive industries, amongst others.

FH5000 Horizontal Machining Centers

Toyoda's FH5000S HMCs with 60-tool ATC capacity are designed for speed and production reliability, featuring a 15,000 RPM, 50 HP (37 kW), 303 Nm (223 ft-lbs.) high acceleration spindle. The 40-taper spindle is designed with four ceramic bearings at the front of the spindle for increased rigidity and reduced vibration. Its patented hydraulic preload system brings the spindle up to 15,000 RPM less than one second without spindle warm-up, ideal for aluminum processing. The larger machines in the FH5000 series are equipped with a 50-taper spindle, 45 tools, and a longer X axis travel.

Cast Iron Tooling Columns

Column construction uses stress relieved, class 40 cast iron, with the base and sides milled flat, perpendicular, and parallel within .001"/ft. providing an accurate foundation on which to setup workholding devices or quick-change systems. What does this spec translate to for customer use? Other features include a center locating bore, inch, and metric hole patterns, M12 lifting holes for secure hoist ring attachment.

Jasper Engines & Transmissions

Jasper Engines & Transmissions sought to increase productivity to keep up with production requirements while reducing scrap, the Jasper, Indiana, company turned to the Mazak Corp. for a solution using a horizontal machining center with a two-pallet changer and an automatic tool changer that can accommodate long boring tools. Mazak then featured Jasper Engines & Transmissions in a "Real Shops, Real Results" video report, which is provided here as a video supplement to the Productive Times article published in the February 2022 issue of Cutting Tool Engineering magazine.
