Grinding Machines

Gleason Corp. introduces the 200GX and 260GX threaded wheel grinding machines, its latest addition to the Genesis series. The twin-spindle concept combines maximum productivity with minimum idle and setup times. Fast, easy software-guided setup of the machine allows users to set up the GX series from one workpiece to another in 20 minutes using a single tool.

Weldon Solutions says its Midas pinion gear shaft OD CNC grinder features the first use of an optical gage system in an automated production environment. This system uses optics to measure multiple diameters and lengths on a large family of pinion shafts.

The latest addition to the extensive machine offering from Schneeberger, the new Aries NGP answers to the need for an affordable tool grinder with all the power of a big machine. Aries NGP offers almost 10-hp, duty-rated power with a direct-drive, double-ended spindle and the accuracy of HSK 50 wheel arbor interface.

In addition to having the newest machine and software solutions from Walter for processing PCD cutting tools, West Ohio Tool continues to refurbish existing machine tools. The latest Walter tool grinding capabilities rebuilt onto an existing machine tool offers additional flexibility and increased capabilities in tool design and quality.

Rush offers the Models FC-200D, FC-300D, FC-500D and FC-200CNC polycrystalline tool grinders, which allow for economical manufacturing and regrinding of PCD, CVD, PCBN, carbide and HSS tools. These machines grind angles and radii on standard and special turning and milling inserts, boring tools, milling cutters, grooving tools, reamers and special tools. The rigid construction with a 3-hp, variable-speed grinding spindle provides for vibration-free grinding and fast stock removal.

AGATHON AG offers the new Dom Plus 4-axis grinding center equipped with automated loading capacity for high production grinding of indexable inserts on the periphery with two K-Lands through integrated reclamping.

The Studer S121 radius internal cylindrical grinding machine from United Grinding North America Inc. has a swing diameter of 250mm (9.84") and can grind a maximum part length, including the clamping device, of 300mm (11.81"). The workpiece weight capacity, including the clamping device, is 100 kg (220.5 lbs.).

New to the GMSi Group Inc. product line is a 4-axis CNC saw grinder for HSS saw blades. The new EMA-500 has six programs for grinding the following teeth forms: “A”, “BW”, “CW”, “ECO”, “F” and “O.”

Palmgren says its Powergrind XP bench grinders provide more horsepower, torque and value-added features. They are designed for heavy-duty use and long duty cycles.

With regular new developments every 6 months, Fritz Studer AG says it has surprised users of internal cylindrical grinding machines in the last 2 years. What still appeared as a separate machine with the S141 universal machine (component length up to 1,300 mm) in May 2014 has evolved into a complete machine platform with the universal machines in the S141 and S151 series in autumn 2014, the S131 universal machine and the S122 production machine in spring 2015 as well as the S121 universal machine in autumn 2015.
