KenTIP FS FEG Insert

Drilling flat-bottom holes is a challenge. So is drilling on inclined or curved surfaces, drilling into cross holes, drilling stacked plates, and drilling into cross holes, stacked plates and castings and other rough surfaces. Not anymore. Leveraging the success of its KenTIP FS modular drill, Kennametal has developed a unique insert geometry (FEG) that streamlines many of these types of applications and simplifies the drilling of counterbores and pilot holes as well.

OSG high-feed, three-flute carbide coolant-through drill

The A Brand ADO-TRS from OSG USA Inc. is a high-feed, three-flute carbide coolant-through drill. Patented geometry permits stable chip ejection even with less chip pocket space, which is inherent in three-flute drills. The result is up to three times faster speed than two-flute drills and up to three times longer tool life. The video illustrates the advantages and shows the tool in action.

Sphinx Nirox

The Nirox geometry has a degressive helix angle equal to 30 degrees at the point and is designed for accurate and precise hole location up to 9xD. A modern, TiAlSiN based coating allows for enhanced chip and coolant evacuation in difficult to machine and adhesive materials, such as titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, hardened steel and CoCr alloys.

CrazyMill Cool P&S

The new version of the solid carbide plunge mill is based on the same technology as the short version, transferred directly to the new one. Now it is possible to plunge perpendicularly into the material and reach the maximum milling depth of 5 x d in a few steps. Despite its length, the milling cutter is extremely stable and at the same time impresses with its cutting speeds, chip removal rates as well as a long tool life and surface quality, all this from a milling diameter of one millimeter (.039”). 

FH3125 Grade Guide Pad

FH3125 is a new grade specifically developed to enhance the guide pad’s wear resistance in machining various materials. The dedicated carbide substrate of the grade is designed to reduce guide pad breakage, providing long and predictable tool life in deep hole processes. The corners of both ends of the guide pad are designed to allow smooth entry into the guide bushing or pilot hole to control vibration impact and further decrease the risk of rupture.

FINE BEAM Inserts

The latest additions include inserts with 0.8 mm (.032″) nose radius in versatile AH725 grade. 0.8 mm nose radius will provide the cutting edge with strength, preventing edge fracture for predictable tool life. In addition, AH725 enhances the insert’s wear resistance during machining of various materials, ensuring high precision and boosts productivity.
