ID-300CNC and ID-300NC ID Grinders

April 13, 2013

Supertec Machinery announces the expansion of its ID Grinder Line with the introduction of the new ID-300CNC and ID-300NC ID Grinders.

The ID-300CNC allows for a maximum grinding depth of 7.8" and a part swing of 15.75" with a grinding capacity of .08" to 12". The FANUC Oi-TD control drives and servo motors coupled with special grinding software allows for up to 8 different face grinding applications in a single setup. Additional canned cycle software for ID, End Face, and Taper Grinding reportedly simplify programming of complex parts.

Uniaxial movement of X and Z axes avoids deviation caused by the vibration of cross stacking movement, insuring machine's stability and precision during the grinding process. With a workhead manual swivel capacity of +30 degrees and -5 degrees on the ID-300CNC complex taper grinding is made simple.

An optional manual face grinding attachment is available to simplify the final step of grinding the face of the part. Supertec also offers the ID grinder in a 2 axis automatic version with a conversational shop floor language that is easy to learn and easy to program.

    canned cycle ( fixed cycle)

Subroutine or full set of programmed NC or CNC steps initiated by a single command. Operations are done in a set order; the beginning condition is returned to when the cycle is completed. See CNC, computer numerical control; NC, numerical control.

  • grinding

    grinding

Machining operation in which material is removed from the workpiece by a powered abrasive wheel, stone, belt, paste, sheet, compound, slurry, etc. Takes various forms: surface grinding (creates flat and/or squared surfaces); cylindrical grinding (for external cylindrical and tapered shapes, fillets, undercuts, etc.); centerless grinding; chamfering; thread and form grinding; tool and cutter grinding; offhand grinding; lapping and polishing (grinding with extremely fine grits to create ultrasmooth surfaces); honing; and disc grinding.

  • inner diameter ( ID)

    inner diameter ( ID)

Dimension that defines the inside diameter of a cavity or hole. See OD, outer diameter.
