 Eldorado KM75-48 3-axis Gundrilling Machine

The Eldorado KM75-48 is a 3-axis gundrilling machine used to manufacture products like transmission shafts, manifolds and mold matrices. The machine includes updated Beckhoff controls with G-code programming, which provides enhanced flexibility. Complex gundrilling operations can be performed with a single fixturing setup.

The KM75-48 features a “knee” fixture table to provide 3-axis CNC gundrilling capability. Drill capacity is 0.078 to 0.75 inches (1.98 to 19.1 mm). Drill slide travel in the Z-axis is 48 inches (1219 mm), with table travel of 24 inches (610 mm) in the X-axis and 12 inches (305 mm) in the Y-axis.

Related Glossary Terms

  • G-code programming

    G-code programming

Programs written to operate NC machines with control systems that comply with the ANSI/EIA RS-274-D-1980 Standard. A program consists of a series of data blocks, each of which is treated as a unit by the controller and contains enough information for a complete command to be carried out by the machine.

  • computer numerical control ( CNC)

    computer numerical control ( CNC)

Microprocessor-based controller dedicated to a machine tool that permits the creation or modification of parts. Programmed numerical control activates the machine’s servos and spindle drives and controls the various machining operations. See DNC, direct numerical control; NC, numerical control.

  • fixture

    fixture

Device, often made in-house, that holds a specific workpiece. See jig; modular fixturing.

  • gundrilling

    gundrilling

Drilling process using a self-guiding tool to produce deep, precise holes. High-pressure coolant is fed to the cutting area, usually through the gundrill’s shank.
