Cast Cut carbide burs

PFERD Inc., Milwaukee, Wis., today introduced Cast Cut, a new line of high-performance carbide burs specially designed for work on cast iron. The burs, which are characterized by an extremely high stock removal rate, reportedly offer a smooth milling action that significantly reduces vibration and noise. Cast Cut achieves stock removal rates up to 100 percent higher than conventional double-cut burs, thanks to its innovative tooth geometry—a major plus for automotive customers given the industry’s relentless drive to boost productivity and save time. Other key market applications include foundry, welding and general industry.

CoroMill 425 Facemill

With CoroMill 425, Sandvik Coromant offers an eight-edge finishing tool designed for face milling that greatly improves metal removal rate and tool life in the ISO K application area. Due to its innovative setting system, it is particularly user-friendly.

Emuge-Franken Endmills

Emuge Corp. offers an extensive line of high-performance solid-carbide endmills for applications ranging from universal milling to aerospace and high hardness machining. The endmills, branded Emuge-Franken, are the result of extensive R&D and incorporate the latest in endmill technology, geometry and coatings and are designed to outperform conventional endmill offerings.

335.25 disc milling cutters

Seco Tools LLC, Troy, Mich., introduced two new insert sizes to its family of 335.25 disc milling cutters, a line that is said to provide manufacturers with high flexibility and productivity. With the additions of XNHQ inserts in 9mm and 12mm sizes, the cutter now offers a range of cutting widths from 0.531" to 1.26" (13mm to 32mm) for an even greater variety of applications.

rConnect communications system

GF Machining Solutions, Lincolnshire, Ill., this week introduced rConnect, a new central communications platform for the company’s milling, EDM and laser texturing machines. Advancing the Industry 4.0 vision of the smart factory of the future, rConnect offers the industry’s most in-depth remote machine tool analysis, according to a Jan. 20 news release from the company.

Keyseat cutters

Whitney Tool Co. Inc.’s solidcarbide keyseat cutters are available in diameters from 1⁄8" to 1 ½". The cutters perform many slotting operations, such as circular interpolation in small-diameter holes. They reportedly are rigid and provide long life, often resulting in higher production rates when cutting difficult to machine materials.

NBV 700 MT (Mill/Turn) Machine

Shorter cycle times are one way of reducing costs; another way to be more productive actually involves longer cycle times: complete machining in a single setup. Clamping a part only once means reduced costs for fixtures, less time spent on setups for different machines, while improving quality by avoiding reclamping errors. This is exactly where the new vertical milling machine from MAG comes"
