HEIDENHAIN’s ACU-RITE brand of digital readout (DRO) products for the machine tool marketplace has introduced a line of three innovative DROs with new software features and robust hardware, which is reportedly making a difference for milling, turning, grinding and boring applications.

The STC series has been designed to provide unrivalled economy in the machining of the most demanding structural parts, multiple-blades and casings with long cycle times, and provide the customer with a whole host of practical options. ARNO Werkzeuge USA announced it has reintroduced the H.B. Rouse brand of American-made, carbide cutting tools and inserts. Formerly sold and marketed under the Arno-Rouse name, the company has reintroduced Rouse as a stand-alone product offering under its original brand name: H.B. Rouse.

To boost customer productivity, Seco has launched a new semistandard Helical Cutter Program that streamlines the process of obtaining advanced helical cutting tools. The program slashes the typically long lead times required for such custom tooling and will ensure customers in demanding industries such as automotive and aerospace can apply the technology and improve their metal-removal operations as quickly as possible, the company reports.

A wide range of cutter blades for their full line of portable pipe beveling machines that pull a thick chip without cutting oils to promote high weld integrity has been introduced by Esco Tool. Esco Millhog cutter blades feature sharp edges and a radical chip breaker that can bevel the pipe OD, flat face and bore the ID sumultaneously without cutting oils.

The Hoffman Group has been garnering attention with the "GARANT Master" tool family since the summer of 2015. A universal high-performance tap has been added to the product family for high-performance cutting.

The newly introduced MT Drill from Carmex is designed to drill, chamfer and thread mill a hole in a single operation. Constructed of solid carbide, the 2-flute drill/thread milling cutter, with 45-degree chamfering, reduces cycle times by combining operations and eliminating tool changes.

At EMAG, Modular Solutions means a multiple-technology machine concept on a unified basic platform. All the machines in the EMAG Modular Solutions series have the same machine base made out of Mineralit polymer concrete, essentially a chassis on which the rest of the machine is installed.

Walter has introduced its ISO H Advance Line of solid-carbide milling cutters, consisting of seven new cutter families specially tailored to the requirements of hard machining (up to 63 HRC). These new cutters include mini and multi-flute, shoulder/slot, ball-nose and high-feed milling cutters, which cover the full range of solid-carbide milling.
