Measuring & Inspection Systems

Hommel-Etamic Toposcan

The Hommel-Etamic Toposcan is a system used for measuring the surface of cylinder bores larger then 60mm in diameter. The Toposcan is capable of automatically measuring the size of porosity and blow holes, stroke reversal radius, laser pocket structures, roughness of bore walls, torn and folded metal and cross-hatch angles. It can be used either for R&D tasks or in the production line.

GapGun Laser Measurement System

Third Dimension says its laser measurement system, GapGun, has proved so valuable to quality inspection at Bombardier they have bought additional GapGuns for use on two London rail services. Bombardier is using GapGun to assist quality inspection for the production of 66 train carriages - on order for Transport for London’s Elizabeth line service - and is now planning to use the system on 45 carriages for the LoTrain project for London Overground.

Micromar 40 EWRi Digital Micrometer

Mahr wireless data transmission capability is now integrated within its new digital micrometer Micromar 40 EWRi. The new 40 EWRi is the latest addition to Mahr's Integrated wireless family of products, including digital calipers, Indicators and depth gages. Measurement data is transferred to an i-Stick on a computer without any interfering data cables, and MarCom software makes data acquisition simple: just take a measurement and transmit measuring data directly into MS Excel or via a keyboard code into any Windows program or existing SPC application.

ModelMaker H120 Hand-Held Laser Scanner

22 years since the inception of the ModelMaker product line, the cutting-edge ModelMaker H120 firmly pushes the ever-exacting boundaries of hand-held laser scanning, Nikon Metrology says. Incorporating blue laser technology, ultrafast frame rate, specially developed Nikon optics and the ability to measure the most challenging materials, this represents the next generation of portable laser scanning.

SRP 5000 Angular Positioning System

The new SRP 5000 angular positioning system from HEIDENHAIN incorporates its high accuracy MRP 5000 angle encoder with accomplished bearing technology along with a unique ETEL torque motor with ultralow detent torque. This combination allows for high stiffness with low cost of ownership and can easily replace rotary air bearing systems used for metrology.
