While the first episode focused on the risk of tool rubbing by turning down the feedrate too much, the second episode cautions against cutting back cut width or stepover too much, which causes chip thinning.

Okuma America Corp. demonstrates the 3D manual feed function with the OSP-P300M control in a video posted to the company's YouTube channel on Jan. 10. The video presents a 3D manual operation that reportedly allows the user to follow the tool axis direction with the rotary axes. The function, which allows the user to "jog" and "pulse" feed, is said to offer an easy approach to check clearance issues between the workpiece, the saddle and other components.

In the debut episode, Cutting Tool Engineering visits with CNC Supervisor Jeffrey Johnson at Tuttle Manufacturing in Barrington, IL. Johnson set out to improve the production time for a part that the shop has been running every other month for a customer who continues to increase the order each time.
