OSG USA Inc., St. Charles, Illinois, expands its A Brand Thread Mill series with the addition of the AT-1, an advanced performance one-pass thread mill suited for various materials.

OSG USA Inc., St. Charles, Illinois, announces the expansion of the A Brand AE-N endmill series with the addition of AE-NIK-TL-N endmills. These DLC-coated endmills are designed for non-ferrous materials.

Tungaloy Corp. recently expanded its TungSpeed-Mill series with new small-diameter, close-pitch cutters designed for precision machining applications. The expanded lineup includes bore-type cutters in three sizes: ø40 mm (z=8), ø50 mm (z=10) and ø63 mm (z=14). The new cutters feature a steel body construction that balances weight reduction with structural integrity. This design enables the tools to remain under the 3 kg weight limit (including arbor) required for BT30 machine compatibility. The lightweight construction makes these tools particularly suitable for smaller machining centers while maintaining the necessary rigidity for precise cutting operations.

Jorgensen Conveyor and Filtration Solutions, Mequon, Wisconsin, highlighted its distinctive MunchMan hinged steel Dual-Belt Conveyor at IMTS 2024.  Unique to Jorgensen, the MunchMan conveyor is well-suited for turning and milling applications that produce long, stringy or nested balls of chips and is designed to greatly reduce or eliminate conveyor jamming problems.

The Starrett AVR400 offers full CNC capabilities including X-Y-Z positioning and comprehensive zoom and telecentric lens options. The versatility of the Protomar Mini is proven through its application in multi-diameter machines, such as grinders for broaches or turbine blades. What sets it apart from conventional measurement systems is its ability to eliminate the setup and zeroing procedure on a master workpiece for the various diameters across its measuring range. Protomar Mini provides absolute measurements across its 100mm measuring range, eliminating the need or retooling when changing diameters. The NVH G-EAR system can identify potential gear defects at the component level prior to gear box assembly. It works on the Single Flank testing principle where one master gear meshes with the component under inspection, detecting macro-geometry (nicks, runout etc.) and micro- geometry (gear mesh excitation, ghost orders) defects that cause gear whine and noise phenomena.

SG SmartCapture software offers a direct PolyWorks Plug-In for streamlined workflow, GD&T measurements and fitting with SmartProfile integration, and STEP file reverse engineering for automatic CAD conversion. Fully supported robotic integration is available for automatic part handling and sorting.

Because of the ground chip breaker on these inserts, the inserts are handed (left hand and right hand insert), but these are standard ISO shapes and sizes- so they are held in conventional ISO turning holders. The inserts also use ‘M’ or maximum material condition tolerance on the corner radii of the cermet, thus allowing for machining of small radius shoulders while utilizing maximum (larger) corner radius strength. The primary application for the WEP01C cermet inserts is turning steels and cast irons (ISO P and ISO K material groups).

Based on the Easy-Cut, the new and improved RushCut is a fully enclosed semi-automatic cut- off machine, designed for quick and easy cutting of carbide rod, high speed steel, and tool ends with diameters between 1/8′′ (3.175 mm) to 1-1/4′′ (31.75 mm). PLC controlled, the RushCut has air actuated work piece clamping and hydraulic feed cutting stroke with a neutral button for manual positioning/feeding.

The cam followers incorporate a polymer layer that is molded directly onto the IKO exclusive thin-walled steel outer ring. This construction solves the dilemma of being able to install a cam follower with special polymers, offering self-lubricating and shock-absorbing properties into existing applications. 

In MERLIC 5.6, some methods that were previously available on a test basis have been transferred to completely new tools. These tools are: “Count with Deep Learning”, “Segment Image Pixel-Precisely", and “Recognize Color”. With “Count with Deep Learning”, also known as Deep Counting, it is possible to count a large number of objects quickly and robustly with little training effort. There are many possible use cases for this feature, like for example completeness checks. “Segment Image Pixel-Precisely" makes it possible to localize trained defect classes with pixel precision.

The T93XM can profile with a standard 1A1 wheel and accommodates several grind styles including wheel profile, plunge, peel, in-feed and thru-feed grinding. The perimetric workholding, unique to TRU TECH, ensures part concentricity to eliminate shank runout without indicating. Ultra-precision accuracy is achieved through the 3-axis, fully programmable configuration with CNC variable speed spindle. Pick-N-Place™ software eases and shortens programming setup time.
