The new 100-Watt fiber laser FOBA Y.1000 operates up to 40 percent faster than common 50-Watt lasers and allows for marking substrates that are usually difficult to mark with other models. It applies robust marks on heavy wear products to ensure abrasion-proof legibility.

Coherent Inc. has extended its series of large-area, high-speed, PowerMax-Pro laser detectors to enable power measurement of continuous-wave laser beams of 3 kW, and 5 kW peak power with modulated laser beams. PowerMax-Pro detectors, first introduced in 2014 and based on Coherent’s proprietary thin film sensor technology, combines the broad wavelength sensitivity, dynamic range and laser damage resistance of a thermopile, with the response speed of a semiconductor photodiode.

MKS Instruments Inc. has announced the Ophir LBS-300s, a compact, portable laser beam splitter for handling small beam diameters and a wide range of powers. The LBS-300s measures laser beams with diameters up to 15mm and powers from 10mW to 400W.

A line of drop-in field replacement CO2 laser lenses supplied in mounts for Trotec, Xenetech and Raytec lasers is being introduced by Laser Research Optics. Laser Research mounted CO2 laser optics for popular engraving and marking lasers are optimized for 10.6 microns where depth of field is critical and are available with focal lengths from 1” to 10” at 1/2” increments.

A new, lightweight, compact processing head from the Coherent division formerly known as LASAG is optimized for industrial laser applications where space is limited and minimum mass is required. Specifically, the new FLBK40 is a modular beam delivery system, including a variety of collimators, focusing lenses, cameras, camera adapters and an IR illuminator, that can be rapidly configured by the user as needed to deliver optimum performance for a wide range of fiber laser-based cutting, welding or drilling applications.
