Coolant Filtration Equipment

Oil Filtration Technology

Fine filtered cooling lubricants represent an important cornerstone in tool manufacturing and are instrumental in achieving high tool quality quickly and economically. Tool manufacturers, who rely on the right technology and competence of their filtration system manufacturer, capitalize optimally on the many advantages offered by efficient coolant filtration.

SuperFiltration Technology

In 2016, Eriez HydroFlow partnered with Milan, Italy-based Comat S.r.l. to bring SuperFiltration technology to North America, providing customers a long-awaited solution to remove particles down to 3-micron nominal from cutting fluid while maintaining a stable fluid temperature. Eriez reports this technology is generating strong activity and a positive response from the marketplace.

Rolled Media Vacuum Filter Systems

With companies’ demands shifting from individual machines to central systems to support many different machines, Eriez HydroFlow continues to invest in improving and simplifying the design of their Rolled Media Vacuum Filter System. These state-of-the-art filters eliminate the need for multiple filters, free up valuable floor space and impart the highest level of performance and reliability.

Full-Flow Filtration Technology

VOMAT says its full-flow filtration technology completely separates dirty oil from clean oil and allows for grinding with optimally cleaned cooling lubricants. VOMAT’s filtration systems clean the oil so efficiently that it’s useful life is much longer than if it were filtered with conventional filter systems still using paper filters or other expensive disposable filter media. A pleasant side effect is the low operating costs.

Sump Shark Sump Cleaner

The new single-phase electric, 60-gal. Sump Shark sump cleaner is available from Cecor Inc. With a suction lift of 13” Hg or 177” water and pumping rate of 60 gpm, the SE15-60PL can suck up an entire sump of metalworking fluid entrained with sludge or chips in just minutes.

SFcompact Chip Conveyor

The new LNS SFcompact chip conveyor (available September 2016) filters coolant to 50 microns and handles virtually all chip types and sizes, from stringy stainless steel to fine brass and aluminum. Unlike other chip conveyors capable of 50-micron filtration, the filtering system is integrated within the rigid frame, so SFcompact requires no more floor space than a typical hinge-belt conveyor and, in most cases, can use the existing coolant tank, according to the company.

Fine Filtration Systems

Modern cutting tools that meet today’s growing demands for tolerance, performance and efficiency can only be produced economically under optimal production conditions. A look behind the scenes at the global tool manufacturer, Jongen Tool GmbH, and their new production facility in Germany reveals the technical complexity involved in manufacturing inserts and solid carbide end mills with consistent high quality. In order to accomplish all this, Jongen employs modern grinding and measuring technology as well as fine filtration systems "made in Germany" by VOMAT.
