API has announced the launch of its laser tracker rental program. The program allows manufacturers to gain access to API’s benchmark Radian laser tracker to perform specific measurements, alignments and calibration tasks or overcome periods of bottleneck for its own portable measurement equipment. API trackers can be rented daily, weekly, monthly or for longer periods.
Mitutoyo America Corp. announces the release of the QS-L Vision Series to its Vision Measuring System Line. The new scope series features a high definition and high-speed auto focus 3-megapixel camera, a four-quadrant LED ring light using high-intensity to provide better observation performance and an interchangeable objective lens zoom unit that produces a very sharp image due to a high numerical aperture.
Mitutoyo America Corp. announces the release of the QM-Height series high-performance height gauge to its small tools line. The QM-Height is used to measure height, height difference (step), inside/outside widths, inside/outside diameters, circle pitch, free-form surface maximum/minimum heights and height difference by scanning measurement. It features an accuracy of ±(2.4+2.1L/600) μm, and a built-in pneumatic flotation system enables smooth movement over a surface plate.
Exact Metrology announces the immediate availability of the new Artec Micro 3D scanner. The Artec Micro, an automated, metrology-grade desktop 3D scanner, is Artec 3D’s most accurate 3D scanner to-date and is used for scanning tiny mechanical parts, such as engine valves or connectors, for inspection and reverse engineering, as well as other small objects for industries such as heritage preservation, dentistry and medical.
Mitutoyo America Corp. announces the release of the MiSTAR 555 CNC shop floor coordinate measuring machine to its CMM product line that operates without compressed air and on conventional 120V 20 AMP electrical service with movement speeds of 606mm/s and acceleration of 2,695mm/s² (3D).
The L.S. Starrett Co. has introduced a new generation of its HDV300 and HDV400 benchtop digital video comparators with impressive speed increases and improved illumination, design and convenience enhancements. CNC motion on the new HDV systems is significantly faster, enabling even greater user measurement throughput. At 10mm/ sec., speed on the Y-axis has tripled and X-axis speed has almost doubled at 45mm/ sec. In addition, improved LED ring lighting provides a more consistent illumination.
Sensofar Metrology announces the release of the 5th generation of its flagship optical profiler. The S neox is a high-performance non-contact 3D optical profiler microscope system purposely-designed for subnano, nano and microscale measurement, with advanced inspection and analysis capabilities.
Mahr Inc. announced the addition of the variable-drive MarSurf VD series, which enables roughness and contour measurements to be performed on the same machine. The operator can easily and quickly change between a high-precision roughness probe system or a highly dynamic contour probe system, depending on the measuring task.
EXAIR's new Hot Tap Digital Flowmeters allow installation when compressed air piping is under pressure. By eliminating the need to isolate and remove pressure from the pipe, these compressed air flowmeters reduce installation time while maintaining safety.
The API Swivelcheck instrument measures and calibrates machine tool rotary axes, tilt tables and pendulum axes. Swivelcheck utilizes a servo-driven motor in conjunction with an electronic level and precision rotary encoder to measure multiple parameters in a single setup.
Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division announced the availability of the latest version of the Global S HTA (high throughput and accuracy) solution for the aerospace industry, which brings major enhancements to Hexagon’s high-speed, non-contact compressor blade measurement system. It builds on the performance strength of the GLOBAL S HTA’s predecessor, which delivered a cycle time that was between two and five times faster than traditional tactile measurement.
Machine tool programmers and engineers that utilize Renishaw’s GoProbe macros could save significant time and labor with the use of Mitsubishi Electric Automation Inc.’s Interactive Cycle Insertion screens on its M8 Series of CNCs. They can use the Interactive Cycle Insertion screens to integrate Renishaw GoProbe macros directly into their CNC.
Vision Engineering Inc. has launched the LVC400, a fully automated 3-axis video measurement system. Suitable for measuring large components or multiple small components, quickly, easily and accurately, LVC400 offers faster measurement and high accuracy levels.
Vision Engineering’s DRV (Deep Reality Viewer) digital 3D stereoscopic display technology creates stereo high-definition 3D images without using a monitor or requiring operators to wear headsets or specialist glasses because images "float" in front of a mirror.
SICK is launching its newest safety laser scanner, outdoorScan3. It is the first safety laser scanner certified to IEC 62998 for use in outdoor applications.
Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division announced the launch of a new wireless, inline, gap and flash measuring system. The NEXTSENSE CALIPRI C15 is the latest addition to the CALIPRI family of non-contact measurement systems, which use a patented sensing technique to rapidly and accurately measure gap and flush, seal gap and feature lines throughout the manufacturing process.
Until now fabricators conducting surface finish measurements have had to use hand-held sensors or move a part to a dedicated measuring machine. To help companies reclaim lost production time, AIMS Metrology has equipped its Revolution Series LM coordinate measuring machine with a Renishaw 5-axis REVO 2 head and the new SFP2 probe. Because the SFP2 is interchangeable with other probe options, it gives manufacturers the flexibility to inspect a diverse range of features on one CMM.
Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division announced the worldwide launch of PartInspect L, the first automated 3D measurement cell product based on AICON scanner technology. Featuring a choice of structured-light scanning technology paired with a flexible robot arm and housed within a modular cell format, PartInspect L uses advanced automation expertise to meet increased demand for high-speed, high-quality part measurement and analysis.
