PCBN Inserts with HH Chipbreaker

Kyocera Precision Tools introduces new economical double-sided, multiple-edge PCBN inserts with HH chipbreaker for machining hardened material with excellent chip control. These PCBN inserts are design for optimized small DOC finishing for workpieces that are 55 HRC or harder.

The HH chipbreaker inserts come in KBN05M insert grade designed with a hybrid grain structure with high-hardness, high-strength MEGACOAT coating technology to ensure longer tool life with superior oxidation and wear resistance.

polycrystalline cubic boron nitride ( PCBN)

Cutting tool material consisting of polycrystalline cubic boron nitride with a metallic or ceramic binder. PCBN is available either as a tip brazed to a carbide insert carrier or as a solid insert. Primarily used for cutting hardened ferrous alloys.

  • wear resistance

    wear resistance

Ability of the tool to withstand stresses that cause it to wear during cutting; an attribute linked to alloy composition, base material, thermal conditions, type of tooling and operation and other variables.
