MATRIX MachiningCloud Connection

February 18, 2016

Commodity & Tool Management Services (CTMS), a business unit of the IMC Group, and MachiningCloud GmbH recently announced the availability of the MATRIX MachiningCloud Connection, according to a Feb. 9 joint news release.

Through the new connection, customers now have access to real-time local availability of cutting tool items from within the MachiningCloud app, according to the news release. An Industry 4.0 solution provider helping customers make better tooling decisions, MachiningCloud is used by customers to prepare cutting tool packages and provide the data needed for CAD/CAM programming and machine simulation. Having access to local availability on cutting tool inventory via the Matrix Cloud Connection is said to ensure that tool planners choose tools that are readily available.

CTMS, which is dedicated to delivering tool management services and systems to help customers reduce their production costs, offers two sizes of its MATRIX tool management system: the MAXI and MINI, both of which are said to be fully scalable and modular.

"We are confident that customers using both platforms will enjoy the added value that this integration offers, ensuring a speedy selection of the tools on hand for each job," said CTMS Director Raoul Rapke.

Added Stéphane Julien, Cloud evangelist for MachiningCloud, "By joining forces on MachiningCloud, the MATRIX connection ensures greater and more seamless flow of information throughout customers' shops."
