Mahr Federal Inc., Providence, R.I., recently introduced the next generation of waterproof digital calipers with the new MarCal 16 EWR. Featuring an ergonomic design with lapped guideways and a larger display, the MarCal 16 EWR is said to offer IP 67 protection against dust, coolants and lubricants, according to a Feb. 12 news release.
The waterproof digital calipers also are said to feature an extended 3-year battery life and an innovative zero-reference system that automatically stores the zero position for further measurements.
The MarCal 16 EWR features a handy non-slip thumb support said to ensure trouble-free handling and reliable results, even in contaminated working conditions. Plus, a large high-contrast display with 11mm digits enables accurate fatigue-free reading.
In addition to the standard guideway locking screw, the new MarCal 16 EWR is equipped with an electronic LOCK function. With this key lock, the zero position is secured and operating error avoided, according to the company.
