Okuma names vice president of operations

Mike Vassil of Okuma America.Mike Vassil has been named vice president of operations at Okuma America Corp. in Charlotte, North Carolina. Vassil has been with Okuma America for more than 20 years, having held positions with progressive responsibilities including the position of director of operations, which he has held since 2018.

In this new role, Vassil will be responsible for all operational departments for the builder of CNC machine tools, controls and automation systems. In addition, he is responsible for procurement/planning, contract administration, production, facilities, Quick Shop, warehousing, and material handling. He will also participate as a member of the company’s steering committee.

“Mike (Vassil) has proven to be a highly effective leader who is driven to ensure customer satisfaction while supporting Okuma’s mission, vision and values,” said Jim King, president and COO. “We congratulate him on this achievement and welcome him to our senior leadership team.”
