Machine tool builder Okuma America Corp., Charlotte, N.C., will host its 2014 Technology Showcase event December 9-10, 2014. The theme of this year's event is "Make the Leap" and will include demonstrations of simple technology upgrades that enable users to enhance the productivity of their CNC machines and operators and improve overall profitability, according to the company. For each technology shown, there will be a side-by-side demonstration of basic vs. advanced machine functionalities and the benefits that can be gained by "leaping" into higher technology. More than 15 CNC machines will be demonstrated, many of which debuted at IMTS 2014.

Attendees will also have a chance to tour the Okuma America facility where they can see a live hand scraping demonstration and visit the electrical and mechanical repair operations. Members of Partners in THINC will demonstrate how peripheral equipment such as tooling, gaging, workholding and automation can be integrated with Okuma technology to improve productivity.

On Tuesday, Dec. 9, attendees will enjoy a dinner at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte. For more information and to register for this event, visit www.okuma.com/events/maketheleap.
