Mate Precision Technologies, a manufacturer of metal cutting and metal forming products and solutions, announced the retirement of its current president and the appointment of a new president today.

After 25 years with Mate, including 19 as president, Kevin Nicholson has announced his retirement. He will assist with the transition to the new president, Joe Schneider, which took effect in August 2025.

“During his tenure, Kevin contributed significantly to the company, including the launch of our press brake tooling and workholding product lines,” said Dean Sundquist, Mate’s Chairman and CEO. “We thank him for his leadership.”

Joe Schneider has more than 31 years of experience at Mate. He brings extensive knowledge of the company and the industries it serves, with a background in marketing and product development that supported numerous product introductions. Schneider is focused on continuing the company’s commitment to innovation, quality, and service.

Schneider began at Mate’s German subsidiary, Mate GmbH, in 1994. He returned to the U.S. in 1996 and held roles in engineering and management before becoming Mate’s Vice President of Marketing in 2006. He holds BSME and MBA degrees from the University of Minnesota.

“Mate remains committed to providing quality products and customer service,” said Sundquist. “Joe will continue that commitment as president.”

“We look forward to Joe’s leadership as Mate continues to grow existing product lines and explore new opportunities in the metal cutting and metal forming industries,” Sundquist added.
