International System of Units (SI)

January 01, 2014

Industrial Press Inc. has published a new e-book, "International System of Units (SI): How the world measures almost everything and the people who made it possible," by Edmund Isakov, Ph.D., who is also a contributor to CTE. The book is intended to be used by public and private schools for teaching the metric system. Unfortunately, only limited information on the metric system is infused throughout earth science, physics, mathematics and chemistry at those schools, according to Industrial Press.

The e-book provides detailed information on the metric system, its origin, history and how the base and derived units of measurement were established. The book is available on CD in PDF format and can be purchased at the Industrial Press Web site for $19.95. Visit new.industrialpress.com and search for the book's title.
