Imetric 3-D Scanner

January 12, 2012

After introducing their own award winning D5 last year (winner of the Red Dot Award for Best Industrial Design), DATRON Dynamics is now a North American demonstration and training facility for Imetric North America.

According to Neal Simmons, Dental Specialist for DATRON Dynamics, "We've combined a fully functional technical center with a turn-key solution for milling metal and zirconia. The Imetric scanner povides the necessary base information for a precise outcome."

The new Imetric Iscan can be purchased separatley. Imetric's structured white-light scanning systems for dental applications are designed to provide flexible contactless digitalization for industrial reconstruction, inspection, deformation or movement analysis. These systems allow for fast and easy positioning of your objects from single tooth to full arch and provide automated single button scanning for dental casts as well as implants.

    milling

Machining operation in which metal or other material is removed by applying power to a rotating cutter. In vertical milling, the cutting tool is mounted vertically on the spindle. In horizontal milling, the cutting tool is mounted horizontally, either directly on the spindle or on an arbor. Horizontal milling is further broken down into conventional milling, where the cutter rotates opposite the direction of feed, or “up” into the workpiece; and climb milling, where the cutter rotates in the direction of feed, or “down” into the workpiece. Milling operations include plane or surface milling, endmilling, facemilling, angle milling, form milling and profiling.
