Engis Corp. says its FastLap lapping and polishing system has been engineered specifically to meet the demand for super-high finish lapping and polishing processes and can achieve sub 0.1 microinch Ra finished lapped surfaces. The FastLap systems are available in tabletop and floor standing configurations. Built with heavy-duty spindle bearings, FastLap systems handle high download forces of up to 1,100 lbs., with a main drive motor rating from 1 to 7.5 hp, depending on the model selected. The soft-start ramp-up and variable speed drive allows for optimal lapping and polishing rates on thin or fragile parts. FastLap machines are available in models utilizing lapping plates from 15" to 48" and can be customized to a wide variety of applications and specifications. In addition, the rigid structure of the FastLap system offers years of trouble-free operation in your production environment with minimal maintenance, according to the company.
