Toolmaker TDC Cutting Tools Inc. announced the expansion of its operations and established its global headquarters in Seneca, S.C., resulting in 38 new positions at the facility. The company will invest $8.2 million in the construction of the new TDC Overseas campus, including a 32,000-sq.-ft. office building and a 10,000-sq.-ft. recycling center. Greenfield Industries, a subsidiary of TDC, recently consolidated its U.S. manufacturing operations and U.S./Canadian headquarters at the campus. Greenfield Industries was acquired by TDC in 2009.

"Through this expansion, TDC has positioned itself for strong future growth in overseas markets," stated Jeff Chee, TDC founder and CEO. "TDC chose Oconee County for its overseas headquarters largely due to the proximity to Clemson University and Tri-County Technical College, the support provided by both county and state governments, regional infrastructure and potential cost advantages."

With a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for June 6 and site work to begin in July, completion of the complex is scheduled for May 2015.
