Seco customers attend Indy 500 practice

Seco customers and employees enjoy Indy 500 Practice Day with Andretti Autosport.Toolmaker Seco Tools LLC, Troy, Mich., a technical and supplier sponsor of Andretti Autosport's Verizon IndyCar Series championship racing team, invited customers from across the Midwest to attend an Indy 500 practice day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The day included a meet and greet with IRL driver Marco Andretti, a tour of the Andretti Autosport garage, a catered lunch in the team's suite at the track and a visit to the pits to watch the Indy cars in action.

"We really appreciate getting to come out as guests of Seco and Andretti today," said Eric Robinson, scheduling and purchasing supervisor at Standard Lock Nut, Westfield, Ind. "Seco's customer support and the knowledge of their sales people are huge benefits to Standard Lock Nut and we have a great relationship with Jeff Shope,During the Indy 500 Practice Day, Seco customers got an up close look at the Andretti Autosport team in the pits. our local rep."

Rain that kept the cars off the track early on, but Marco Andretti stopped by the suite to meet guests, sign autographs and pose for photos. Guests were then given a personal tour of the Andretti garage, where they had the chance to see the technology and work that goes into building and maintaining an Indy car.

After the weather cleared, the IMS team dried the track using jet engines reengineered for that unique purpose. As the cars took the field, guests visited the pits and took in the preparations and high-speed practice laps up close.
