OSG acquires Amamco Tool

In an effort to expand its reach within the aerospace industry, OSG USA Inc. has purchased Amamco Tool & Supply Co. Inc., an ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100C registered company that makes high-quality, custom, carbide tools for manufacturers in the aerospace, automotive and medical industries, according to an OSG USA news release issued today.

Founded in 1972, Amamco will continue to operate in Duncan, S.C., as an independent company led by newly appointed President Jon Salem, formerly the company's vice president.

"With their success supplying customer-specified, carbide tooling to major aerospace companies, our acquisition of AMAMCO helps OSG meet our global initiative to grow our business in the aerospace industry," said OSG USA President Michael Grantham, who will also serve as CEO of Amamco.

OSG USA, Glendale Heights, Ill., manufactures taps, end mills, drills and indexable cutting tools. OSG’s extensive line of high technology cutting tools features exclusive metallurgy, cutting geometries and proprietary surface treatments to help increase productivity, reliability and tool life. OSG also serves the fastener industry by offering a complete line of thread-rolling, flat, cylindrical, planetary and trim dies.

The company markets its products for numerous industries, including automotive, aerospace, medical and die mold.
