Sidney Pimenta Paiva, 60, took over management of the U.S. subsidiary Mapal Inc. effective April 1. Rene Kristensen had acted as interim CEO (Chief Executive Officer) up until that date. Kristensen will remain with the subsidiary as COO (Chief Operation Officer). Paiva, who also manages the fortunes of MAPAL do Brasil, joined MAPAL in 1997. He successfully established the Brazilian subsidiary, MAPAL do Brasil, and has continued to steadily develop it further. Even before joining MAPAL, the technician, who speaks four languages fluently, had already held management positions or positions of responsibility with various companies. Paiva will now use his many years of experience and profound know-how of the American market to broaden the MAPAL Inc. base in the USA and strengthen its presence in individual market segments.
