GF Machining Solutions opens California facility

GF Machining Solutions LLC, Lincolnshire, Ill., welcomed more than 150 guests, including city and state officials, at the Oct. 9 grand opening of its Irvine, Calif., facility. The event featured a ribbon cutting ceremony, guided tours, product displays, machine demonstrations and presentations.

The new facility, which also houses GF Piping Systems, provides support and training for customers in the West and aids collaboration between GF Machining Solutions and local manufacturers on technology development and process improvement. The campus includes 23,000 sq. ft. (7,010 sq. m) of office, engineering, technical support and training space and 82,000 sq. ft. (24,994 sq. m) of manufacturing and warehouse space.

At the event, showcased equipment included 3- and 5-axis high-speed machining centers, EDMs and System 3R tooling and automation technology.

Hosting the official ceremonies at the event were Glynn Fletcher, president of GF Machining Solutions America; James Jackson, head of business unit Americas for GF Piping Systems; and Pietro Lori, head of GF Piping Systems and member of the executive committee in Switzerland, where GF Machining Solutions Management SA is headquartered.

The building has 27' (8.2m) ceilings and four shipping bays. Employee amenities include a large cafeteria, ample parking and showers.
