ONMX Inserts

The latest Pramet range includes three variants of a 16-edged ONMX insert for depths of cut up to 0.157” (4mm). The standard geometries include the F for light operations, M for versatile use, and R for rough cuts in a variety of materials. Additionally, the 8-edged ONMX-W is a specific wiper insert for high-quality surface finish with large cutters and high feed rate.

S224 Type Indexable Insert

Horn has revised the clamping of the S224 type indexable insert for use in Swiss-type lathes. In order not to have to remove the holder for indexing or changing the insert, the Horn engineers relocated the clamping screw to the side. Clamping now takes place via a camshaft. This allows the insert to be clamped quickly at either side of the holder without having to remove it.

Tiger·tec Gold WSM35G Milling Grade

The new grade is Walter’s response to the upwards trend towards milling steel with difficult machining properties and wear-resistant stainless steel, such as found in applications in the energy and aviation industries. WSM35G meets the most stringent requirement for process reliability, which is highly valued in the automotive sector, and is also suitable for general mechanical engineering applications.

TCB AH6225 Grade Inserts

TCB now offers AH6225 grade inserts. This latest physical vapor deposition (PVD) coated grade features a high-hardness titanium-rich PVD coating, combined with a tough dedicated carbide substrate. Extremely reliable and versatile insert grade, AH6225 allows TCB to efficiently cut bores in all material groups, including steel, stainless steel, and exotic materials.

TecMill AH3225 and AH8015 Inserts

Providing exceptional reliability and increased tool life in steel, the new AH3225 insert grade consists of a unique nano-multilayer coating featuring three distinctive characteristics for improved resistance to built-up edge, wear, and delamination, combined with a dedicated tough carbide substrate. AH8015 is another PVD grade, consisting of extremely hard PVD coating combined with a tough carbide substrate. The grade demonstrates excellent tool life stability in cast iron and heat-resistant superalloys.

FW4 and MW4 Positive Wiper Geometries

The curved wiper cutting edge is a unique feature that makes the wiper action universal across various material groups such as steels, stainless steels, cast irons or even super alloys. The wiper action can be used to reduce machining time by using double the feed rate, while imparting the same surface finish. In some cases, feed rate increases of up to 300% were successfully utilized.

Zertivo 2.0-Coated Grades for CoroMill Plura HD Solid End Mills

The Zertivo 2.0 grades enable a 30 percent increase in cutting speed recommendations for the primary ISO P and ISO M application areas, as well as secondary ISO K and ISO S materials, thanks to their optimized flute shape, which offers effective chip evacuation. The grades designed for stainless steel machining come in two variants: one with internal coolant for improved temperature control and chip flow, and one without internal coolant.

Pramet T9415 Turning Grade

With a 30% thicker coating than the previous generation, the Pramet T9415 significantly improves tool durability by increasing resistance to wear and offers higher productivity by allowing for higher cutting speeds. Several testing users of the new grade have reported that their productivity has doubled while machining carbon and structural steels.

Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) Inserts

The PCD inserts impart the finest surface finishes while shoulder, face and slot milling. The tools enable precise machining with reduced cutting forces and minimal vibration tendencies. They have a low cost because of their extremely long tool life as a result of the cutting edge being made of the hardest known material. In addition, the PCD inserts provide the shortest machining times due to their ability to mill at high cutting speeds. The inserts can be used dry, with emulsion of MQL (minimum quantity lubrication).
