Walter has introduced the Walter Titex DB133 Supreme, a solid-carbide microdrill that reportedly delivers tight tolerances, high-quality surface finishes, superior process reliability and longer tool life. The difference for the DB133 Supreme begins with the use of grades WJ30EL and WJ30ER, developed by Walter specifically for microdrills.

Darex LLC has recently unveiled the XPS-16+ CNC drill sharpener. This unit can sharpen 2-flute HSS, cobalt, carbide and TiN-coated bits from 3mm to 16mm in diameter.

Alfa Tools offers Blitz Nitride jobber drills for heavy-duty production work, as well as tough maintenance (MRO) applications. These extra heavy-duty drills can tackle applications in the widest range of materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, titanium and nickel alloy steels, as well as nonferrous materials.

Taurus Tool & Engineering is manufacturing new lines of drills and countersinks to support the aerospace industry. Each tool is designed with a specific flute geometry for increased chip flow and minimal exit burrs, as well as to prevent any swirl marks on aluminum skins.

GMauvaisUSA has introduced three new lines of microdrills designed specifically for the electronics connector industries. The 3200 series 3-flute long reamer-drills, 3100 series short cross drills and 1100 series half-round gundrills are all in solid carbide and in a wide range of standard microsize ranges.

Hassay Savage – Magafor has introduced a new line of short, NC spot drills specifically designed for use in Swiss-style machining centers. Made from M2 HSS, they are designed with shorter overall lengths that are well-suited for use with all Swiss-style machines.

Dormer PFX premium cobalt HSS drills are available in screw machine, jobber, taper and extra-length designs. Providing options for drilling applications, the PFX is ideal for most engineering materials drilling 3 diameters deep (A920, A921), 6 diameters deep (A900, A901), 10 diameters deep (A940, A941) and 15 diameters deep (A976, A977, A978).

The ISCAR Chameleon line is back and it’s bigger with a diameter range from 1.3”-1.57”. The new innovative CHAMIQDRILL employs a new insert positioning and locking mechanism that eliminates the need for clamps or screws commonly found on drills for larger diameters. This design allows for easy indexing on the machine to reduce setup.
