CoroMill 178 and CoroMill 180 Cutters

A new power skiving solution composed of CoroMill 178 and CoroMill 180 cutters from Sandvik Coromant is being released to help automotive manufacturers complete gear and spline components in one setup on a multitask machine or machining center. Skiving processes are many times faster than shaping and more flexible than broaching, and are quickly becoming an efficient and flexible alternative for gear and spline production.

New generation of CVD grade for steel turning with outstanding productivity

T9215 CVD grade provides unparalleled wear and fracture resistance for turning ISO P15 materials. A thick and homogenous Al2O3 coating layer and a hard-ceramic layer with a hardness of 1.5x compared to conventional technology promote wear resistance. A surface treatment technology enhances machining stability and helps prevent microcracks.
