OSG’s HY-PRO® CARB VGM Series

With variable index and unique flute geometry, the OSG HY-PRO® CARB VGM series features unequal flute spacing which reduces vibration during machining by altering the timing of each flute engaging in the workpiece. In addition, a sharp rake angle, high helix and adjusted core diameter maintains excellent cutting edge sharpness and tool rigidity to promote smooth, stable cutting with low cutting force.

Set up boring bars for success

ARCH Cutting Tools offers a video overview of its Patriot high-performance boring bars, which offer tunable internal damping technology to deliver optimal dynamic stability and yield significant increases in machining performance. Additionally, you can leave Stealth Tooling “CFT” in the machine and use it for deep or shallow bore applications, thus reducing changeover and setup time.

New parting inserts are offered in the JXPS style : a 0.6 mm (.024″) width insert is designed for maximum parting diameter (CUTDIA) of 6 mm (.236″) and a 0.8 mm (.031″) width insert for 12 mm (.472″) CUTDIA, both furnished with pressed chipbreaker. This intricate chipbreaker creates optimally compressed and curled chips, allowing excellent chip evacuation and superior surface finish.
