E-Form Tube End Forming Machine

BLM Group USA has announced the enhancement of its E-Form tube end forming machine with a fully CNC electric rolling device providing maximum precision and repeatability in part production. The punches of the E-Form reach up to 10 tons of force, molding tubes up to 30mm in diameter of various materials such as copper. aluminum, iron or stainless steel.

The E-Form has nine available processing stations for shaping, rolling, butting, cutting and more, that can be configured to the user’s particular needs. Plus, the absence of obstacles in the top part of the machine allows closing previously shaped tubes in the clamp, even those with very complex 3D geometries. Since all of these operations can be performed in a single pass without having to withdraw material from the machine, cycle times are significantly reduced. Edges may also be trimmed directly in the machine, and the CNC automatically adjusts the cutting position.

Equipped with BLM Group’s VGP2D software, programming is easy to facilitate quick production of parts. Users select the punch they want to use and, by default, the VGP2D will automatically program the most adequate values.

    computer numerical control ( CNC)

Microprocessor-based controller dedicated to a machine tool that permits the creation or modification of parts. Programmed numerical control activates the machine’s servos and spindle drives and controls the various machining operations. See DNC, direct numerical control; NC, numerical control.

  • shaping

    shaping

Using a shaper primarily to produce flat surfaces in horizontal, vertical or angular planes. It can also include the machining of curved surfaces, helixes, serrations and special work involving odd and irregular shapes. Often used for prototype or short-run manufacturing to eliminate the need for expensive special tooling or processes.
