DRV Indexable Magic Drill with Larger Diameters

The popular DRV indexable Magic Drill family just got bigger! With new larger diameters finally available, these high-efficiency indexable drills span from Ø0.500"~Ø2.000" and Ø12mm~Ø60mm sizes.

Built for Speed and Accuracy
Achieve excellent drilling precision with less variation in hole diameter. The DRV's optimal web thickness design creates low cutting forces and reduces chattering for smooth drilling applications.

2D ~ 6D Drilling Lineup
Great for numerous high-speed drilling applications, the DRV can tackle numerous jobs in multiple materials with 2xD to 6xD depth capabilities.

Controlled Chip Flow
The DRV is equipped with a CVD outer insert and a PVD inner insert combination to account for different speeds and forces exerted on each cutting edge. The DRV utilizes economical inserts with 4 cutting edges and 4 unique chipbreaker designs for various machining applications.

  • chemical vapor deposition ( CVD)

    chemical vapor deposition ( CVD)

High-temperature (1,000° C or higher), atmosphere-controlled process in which a chemical reaction is induced for the purpose of depositing a coating 2µm to 12µm thick on a tool’s surface. See coated tools; PVD, physical vapor deposition.

  • chipbreaker

    chipbreaker

Groove or other tool geometry that breaks chips into small fragments as they come off the workpiece. Designed to prevent chips from becoming so long that they are difficult to control, catch in turning parts and cause safety problems.

  • physical vapor deposition ( PVD)

    physical vapor deposition ( PVD)

Tool-coating process performed at low temperature (500° C), compared to chemical vapor deposition (1,000° C). Employs electric field to generate necessary heat for depositing coating on a tool’s surface. See CVD, chemical vapor deposition.

  • web

    web

On a rotating tool, the portion of the tool body that joins the lands. Web is thicker at the shank end, relative to the point end, providing maximum torsional strength.
