July 2014 - LMT Onsrud LP introduces a new cutting tool to machine composite materials. LMT Onsrud says its 66-700 series produces a superior edge in carbon fiber material. The tool's low-helix flute design results in reduced vibration and quiet cutting compared to PCD endmills.

The open flute geometry allows for heat dissipation, therefore preventing resin flow. The multiflute configuration results in faster feed rates than a PCD tool.

LMT Onsrud's 66-700 series DFC multiflute, low-helix tools are coated with a diamond film coating to extend tool life in today's highly abrasive composites.
