Microlution president pushes for more awareness of micro market

Though micromanufacturing companies such as Microlution Inc. and Smaltec International have expanded within the past year, growth for the overall micro market faces a big challenge: increasing awareness of the micro market, observed Andy Phillip, president of Microlution Inc., Chicago. Even as Microlution prepares to add even more employees at its new location on the Northwest side of Chicago, Phillip said the market is not yet aware of all that micromanufacturers can accomplish, and that is hindering innovation among designers.

This lack of awareness has lead to more than a few eye-opening phone conversations with companies seeking help with some high precision needs.

Phillip, who agreed to a CTE Plus on-camera interview, shares a few anecdotes, discusses the recent expansion of Microlution and provides a brief demonstration of the highly repeatable mouting system of its 310-S 3-axis micromilling machine.

What's more, as of November, the company has added an automatic toolchanger to its 3-axis micromilling machine. To learn more about the company, its growth and its micromilling machine, click on the video players to the left.
