Sandvik Coromant recycles for vets

Sandvik Coromant, Fair Lawn, N.J., is dedicating the month of August to raise money for “Workshops for Warriors.” For every pound of carbide received for recycling, Sandvik Coromant will donate $1 to the non-profit organization that is dedicated to training, certifying and placing veterans into manufacturing careers.

Sandvik Coromant has previously supported Workshop for Warriors with a grant of $40,000 worth of metalcutting tools. This grant supplemented the organization’s new machining program at its San Diego facility and included technical and application support from the Sandvik Coromant Productivity Center in Cypress, Calif.

To get started recycling used carbide inserts and solid carbide round tools, customers can call 1-800-SANDVIK (1-800-726-3845) or visit the Sandvik Coromant Web site to order a free recycling kit.

Sandvik Coromant will pay the current price per pound for recycled carbide during August, and will also donate $1 per pound of recycled carbide to Workshop for Warriors. All Recycling Return Authorizations (RRAs) issued by Sandvik Coromant from August 1 through August 31, 2013 (inclusive) are eligible for the $1/pound donation to Workshops for Warriors as long as the shipment is received at our designated facility within 15 business days from the issuance of the RRA.  RRAs issued on August 31, 2013, the last day of the campaign, must be received no later than September 23, 2013.
