SMTCL hosts open house

Machine tool builder SMTCL–Americas hosted an Open House at its U.S. headquarters in City of Industry, Calif., near Los Angeles, on May 7.

Customers and prospects visited SMTCL’s 30,000-sq.-ft. technical center, met with the SMTCL management and engineering staff, learned about new machine tool technology and received discounted prices on over 30 machines displayed in the showroom. The event included musical entertainment and prize giveaways.

In addition, seminars covered topics such as 5-axis machining, workholding, CAD design, tooling innovations and machining strategies for titanium.

SMTCL partners such as Kennametal, Calmotion, Mitutoyo, Siemens, FANUC, Innovative Tool Sales and Next Engine had booths at the open house where their engineering personnel met with end users and distributors.

“I’m very proud of our team for planning and executing such a successful and fun open house,” said Bob Mlakar, president of SMTCL–Americas. “Customers had a great time, learned a lot and received good deals on quality machines. The event showed people that SMTCL is here to stay. We have good service and parts inventory coupled with knowledgeable, helpful and dedicated personnel.”
