Amada completes acquisition of Miyachi

Amada Co. of Japan has completed its acquisition of Miyachi Unitek Corp., Monrovia, Calif. a manufacturer of welding equipment and laser processing systems. Miyachi is now a consolidated subsidiary of Amada. The combined companies have formed a global alliance and are expected to extend existing technology into new areas and collaborate on business systems.

Amada, headquartered in Isehara, Kanagawa, develops, manufactures, sells and services products and systems for metal sheet processing, metal cutting, pressing, and machine tooling. “We are excited to move ahead with this collaborative relationship with Amada, and look forward to leveraging synergies to develop new technology and products, apply welding technology to other metal processing applications, and continuously enhance competitiveness,” said Dave Fawcett, president and CEO of Miyachi Unitek.
