Able Electropolishing recently gained certification in ISO 13485:2003 and renewed its ISO 9001: 2008 certification from the International Office of Standards, according to the company.

Certification in ISO 13485:2003 acknowledges that Able has demonstrated its ability to produce medical equipment parts that meet both consumer and regulatory requirements. Also, the certification details Able’s ability to provide medical equipment manufacturers with metal parts of the highest standard in safety and quality, the company reports.

The certification was granted following a thorough review of Able’s equipment, facilities, staff and other factors indicative of the company’s quality control and production capabilities, according to the Chicago-based company.

The certifications are valid for two years.

The ISO certifications will ensure that all of Able’s advanced electropolishing techniques meet the highest international standard of quality, the company reports.

Able Electropolishing offers metal electropolishing, passivating and titanium anodizing services. Its Chicago plant offers electropolishing of nearly any metal including stainless steel, aluminum, copper, nickel, titanium and Nitinol.
