Sandvik Coromant launches new Web site

Sandvik Coromant launched its new corporate Web site at www.sandvik.coromant.com.

The revamped Web site is part of Sandvik Coromant’s new global strategic direction focused on supporting customer’s growing needs in a developing marketplace, according to the company.

Available in 19 different languages and supporting more than 100 countries, the Web site features an enhanced platform and a simplified interface that enables easier navigation, the company reports.

The site will offer information on the best machining methods, how to choose the right products, how to maintain products and how to optimize productivity, according to the company.

“In a content rich environment like the Internet, it is important to reach customers in a way that’s as easy as possible for them,” said Björn Roodzant, senior manager for the global web for Sandvik Coromant, Fair Lawn, N.J. “The customer should be able to choose how and when to interact with us and do business.”

According to the company, the site includes:

  • a powerful search engine with a fully searchable database of indexed content such as articles, product codes, product families, videos and images;
  • an online ordering service that provides channel partners and customers an easy method to check pricing, product availability, package tracking and order and invoice history; and
  • an advanced tooling service that provides cutting tool recommendations based on user parameters such as “working material” and “task.”

All product information is based on the new ISO standard (13399).
